Steve Buscemi plays a low-budget filmmaker struggling to bring his artistic vision to the screen despite the best efforts of his crew and cast to hinder him. Whether filming a low key family drama, a soapy love scene or a surreal dream sequence, big-headed actors, temperamental cameramen and even an unexpected visit from his deranged mother conspire against him.
