Existentialist Turkish drama about a disparate couple over three seasons of their life together. University lecturer Isa (Nuri Bilge Ceylan) and TV Producer wife Bahar's (Ebru Ceylan) relationship seems dead or dying and yet they stick together, unable to admit what seems inescapable.
On their summer holiday they go through the motions but even the fun and sunshine can't throw light on the remains of their turgid relationship. When Bahar returns to Istanbul early due to work, Isa is left in Kas as Autumn is falling. There, he meets an old lover, Serap, (Nazan Kirilmis) making things even more complicated.
The final segment shows Isa traveling to the country to visit Bahar at a shoot location to see if there is any chance of saving things.
