Dabrye - Two/ThreeReleasedatum: 8 juni 2006
Michigan based beat pioneer Dabrye offers up his promising first truly hip-hop record. Following the success of his Ghostly International released debut 'One/Three' and the subsequent release of 'Instrumntl' on Prefuse 73’s own Eastern Development, Dabrye began catching the eyes of prominent mc’s and after some serendipitous word of mouth networking, recorded a collaboration with the late J Dilla on 'Game Over'. Building on the buzz from that cut, Dabrye reached out to some of the best underground talent for the sessions of 'Two/Three', including Doom on the boisterous epic 'Air', Beans for the brash beat driven lament of 'Nite Eats Day' and Waajeed and Ta’Raach on the politically charged, sample heavy 'Viewer Discretion'. Dabrye also included some of the instrumental tracks that got him where he is with 'Machines Pt. I & II', 'Tell Dem', and 'Piano'. Lyrically smart and musically sound, 'Two/Three' is an eclectic triumph.
