At the beginning of the sixties, following the success of Polanski's 'Rosemary's Baby', Italian cinema developed stories containing satanic and conspiracy elements. 'Il Profumo della Signora in Nero' is part of this theme but has completely original characteristics. Mimsy Farmer, the fragile main character, is a chemist who finds herself sinking slowly into a kaleidoscope of nightmares. But are these just sediments of her psychological problems or do they hide some kind of machination to the harm she has suffered?
