The script of 'Baron Blood' is a compilation of all the typical situations of the Italian gothic genre; witchlike curses, a bloody baron who resurrects from the tomb, magic scrolls and chambers of toture equipped with terrifying contraptions. But as usual, the story hardly interests director Mario Bava. He concentrates on the performance and presents us with a film which is one of the most accurate pieces of work in the stylistic sense of the word.
