Lee, Bunny 'striker' - The Bunny 'striker' Lee Story (4cd Bunny Lee)
Releasedatum: 17 januari 2005
Bunny Lee is one of Jamaica's leading producers, yet he is seldom mentioned in the same category as Coxsone, Scratch, Duke Reid or even Niney and Augustus Pablo. He started his carreer in the rock steady era and had a lot of success with the Uniques. His heyday was in the first half of the 70s. Bunny Lee is responsible for introducing the flying cymbal sound and was one of King Tubby's first clients, employing the dubmaster to remix his b-sides, thus influencing the birth and growth of dub music. He scored so many hits that his nickname became 'Striker'. This 4 CD box features 101 tracks, from his first production: Roy Shirley's 'Music field' to the 'Lovers Rock Medley' from Sugar Minott (mid 80s). Amongst the featured artists you'll find Johnny Clarke, Cornell Campbell, Slim Smith, Horace Andy, U Roy, John Holt, Pat Kelly, Augustus Pablo, I Roy, Dennis Alcapone, Jah Stitch, King Tubby, Max Romeo, Bob Marley and many, many others.
