A Living Hell is a masterpiece, which could be best described as 'The Japanese Chainsaw Massacre', with the same claustrophobic suspense, intensity and depraved family rituals. Young Yasu lives together with his father, sister and brother, and suffers from a disease which binds him to his wheelchair. When two more distant family members come to live in the house, Yasu's suffering really begins. The old woman and her mute granddaughter torture poor Yasu when the others aren't at home. Yet no-one believes Yasu's stories. When their abuse reaches a peak, the film takes a surprising turn...
