Re-issue of two classic albums together on one cd. Nightfood was originaly released in 1974 and was produced by Harry J. Alongside some remakes of earlier Studio One rocksteady gems like ‘I’ve got The Handle’, ‘Fatty Fatty’and’Sweet Talking’ in a reggae fashion, it features the hits ‘Book Of Rules’ and ‘Mama Says’. The second album was originally titled ‘Party Time’ and is generally considered to be one of their alltime classics. It was produced by Lee Perry in 1976 when he was at his most innovative and experimental. The Black Ark sound dominates this albums so much that the Heptones did not recognize their studio efforts in the final mix. Layer upon layer of overdubs build the very spacey soundscape for which Perry was most famous. As with ‘Nightfood’ this one also is a mix of Studio One remakes like the titlesong ‘Party Time’ and the Dylan classic ‘I Shall Be Released’ and originals such as ‘Mr President’, ‘Road Of Life’ and ‘Fi Wi Time’
