Even though this is Lymie’s debut album, as so many Jamaican artists he’s been around for years. Struggling to make his name in the music business, Lymie used to sing in the backing-band Skool, recorded many unreleased sides and did backing vocals for several Jamaican singers. Veteran Freddie McGregor finally gave him his break and this album is the end result. Strong lovers, some roots songs all with a UK kind of sound nicely produced by Freddie’s Big Ship, Stingray, Dalton Browne and Barry Clarke, it features the hits ‘La La Means’ and ‘Only Conversations’.
