Elephant Man - Higher Level
Releasedatum: 15 november 2002
Shizzle My Nizzle, Capiche! Although not known for his deep and meaningful lyrics, the sheer enthusiasm and pleasure of Elephantman’s delivery makes him the true Energy God. This is his third solo album, and he does not seem to suffer from the loss of his novelty as so much of his peers. ‘Higher Level’ contains no less than 23 tracks, without even one skit or intro. His hits are there, but the nice people of Greensleeves did not put out a lame single compilation as such. Quite a few of the songs are exclusives and haven’t been released yet. This album definitely leads the way into the near future of dancehall. The follow-up riddim of the ‘Diwali’ is there, as are new riddims for hot and upcoming labels like Don Corleon, Kings Of Kings and Rattler. Al the topatop selections of the last couple of months are represented in the form of productions by Stonelove (‘Bad Man A Bad Man’ & ‘Tall Up’), Lenky (‘Elephant Message’on ’Diwali’), The Jammy$ clan (‘Making Money’, Bring Di Sittin Come’), Fat Eyes (‘Look’), Golden Cartel (‘On Line’) and his current smashhit and title track of this album for Q45 ‘Higher Level’. Definately one of the best dancehall albums of 2002!
