Sometimes you just can’t get enough of a good thing. This is the second volume of versions on the Hard Drive Riddim (part one being the Greensleeves rhythm album 26) and it’s ever so strong as the first one. Chris Goldfinga and Gregory Harriot from New York produced a hardcore bogle riddim, which resembles the ‘Chi Chi Man’ quite a bit. This second series of 20 tracks is not made up of the leftovers of the first part. It actually contains top a top artists like Bountykiller, Anthony B, Beenieman (2X), Tonto Metro & Devonte. More Jamaican artists are Sean Paul, Determine, Lukie D, Lexxus, Singer J and Harry Toddler. The ladies make themselves heard as well. Tanya Stephens has definitely returned on the dancehall front, here she is represented by a solo outing and by a combination with current leading lady Cécile. The undisputed Queen of Slackness returns after some time off with typical Lady Saw lyrics: ‘In your Face Again’. Some young (New York ?) talent with names like Action, New Kids, Crazy Hype, Famous Face & Tornado provide some new styles and promising careers.
