The idea sounds stale and uninspired. Remake a whole bunch of popular hits in a reggae style and sell it on the christmas market, but it works out very nice due to the high quality of both artists and material. Don Campbell’s ‘Rise’, Phoebe One’s ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’and Lloyd Brown’s ‘Fill Me In’ already have considerable succes in the UK and are starting to cross over into Yard and the USA. Peter Hunnigale remakes Modjo’s ‘Lady’ into a solid loversrock, Dee Ellington does the same with Shanks & Bigfoot’s ‘Sweet Like Chocolate’. Other songs on the album include ‘Maria Maria’, ‘Thong Song’, ‘Baby One More Time’. Only reggae versions of both ‘Living La Vida Loca’ and ’When The Going Gets Tough’ are not for me but that is to blame more so on the original songs, which are not amongst my personal favorites.
