Robert Altman drama, set in the Golden Age of jazz. In Kansas, 1934, Blondie O'Hara's (Jennifer Jason Leigh) husband, Johnny, is being held to ransom by the Mob, led by Seldom Seem (Harry Belafonte). She sets out to kidnap the wife (Miranda Richardson) of a Presidential advisor on the night of a crucial election, hoping that this will give her the leverage to secure Johnny's release. Together the pair embark on a daring rescue bid.
