'Badlands' was inspired by true events, the plot and lead characters of Kit and Holly are based on Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate, who in 1958 embarked on a murder spree that horrified the country. Beautifully shot, flawlessly acted, 'Badlands' is a spellbinding journey, a film to consider alongside Nicholas Ray's 'They Live By Night' and Arthur Penn's Bonnie And Clyde.
